WATCH: BusinessGreen speaks to CCSA's Ruth Herbert and VCMI's Mark Kenber about the role of carbon capture, CO2 removal and nature based solutions in averting the climate crisis at the Net Zero Festival 2023

The role of carbon capture technologies and nature-based solutions in averting the climate crisis has grown to increasing prominence in recent years, amid growing consensus that sequestration and removal of CO2 from the atmosphere must - to some degree or other - play a critical role in achieving net zero.

But what are the current trends, technologies and solutions that can help organisations deliver that 'net' in net zero? At the recent Net Zero Festival 2023, BusinessGreen's editor in chief James Murray sought the expertise of Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) chief executive Ruth Herbert, and Mark Kenber, executive director of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI).

Their fascinating discussion surrounding the role of carbon capture, offsets and nature-based solutions in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions can be watched back in full below.

With thanks to Net Zero Festival 2023's headline sponsors Innovate UK and OVO.

While this year's event may have drawn to a close, the Net Zero Festival will be back in force again in 2024 - so sign up below to stay in the loop on the plans for next year's event.
